About me
Lauren Cristella is President & CEO of the Committee of Seventy, where she became the first woman to lead the organization in its 120+ year history. Since joining C70 in 2018, Lauren has helped expand the organization’s impact through civic education, voter engagement, and public policy initiatives focused on strengthening democracy and public trust. Under her leadership, C70 received the American Bar Association’s Unsung Heroes of Democracy Award in 2024. Lauren has also been recognized as a 2025 Woman of Influence by the Philadelphia Business Journal, a 2025 Civic Changemaker by Generation Citizen, and one of Philadelphia Magazine’s most influential Philadelphians. Prior to C70, she held leadership roles at the University of Pennsylvania Fels Institute of Government and the National Constitution Center. She previously served as President of the League of Women Voters of Philadelphia and continues to serve on its Board. Lauren holds degrees from the Catholic University of America and the University of Essex.
